Board of Director Nominations

The Coalition of State Rheumatology Organizations (CSRO) has an open nomination process for candidates to serve on CSRO’s Board of Directors. Elections occur during CSRO’s Annual Business Meeting and the 2024 meeting will be held on September 21. If elected, Directors will serve a three-year term, with eligibility for re-election for unlimited terms. 

Expectations

Expectations of CSRO’s Board of Directors include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the CSRO’s state and federal advocacy efforts and strategic initiatives:
    • Promote membership among rheumatology state societies
    • Explain the purpose of the CSRO and its importance to our profession
    • Explain the benefits of membership and why support via membership is needed
    • Answer questions about the CSRO
  • Attend all CSRO in-person events (two held annually) 2024 Advocacy Conference:
    • September 20-22, 2024 – Nashville, TN 2025
    • Fellows Conference: February 21-23, 2025 – Nashville, TN
    • All other dates and locations to be determined
  • Attend all CSRO Board Meetings, held in conjunction with annual in-person events and virtually on various Fridays throughout the year:
    • February/March: Fellows Conference
    • Summer: Virtual
    • September: Advocacy Conference
    • December: Virtual
  • Serve on one or more CSRO Committees

Board members will receive reimbursement for travel and other expenses related to all CSRO activities, as well as an annual stipend.

Qualifications

To be eligible to serve on the CSRO Board of Directors, candidates must be a rheumatologist. The Board is comprised of individuals from across the United States, and candidates can be located in any state or territory.

Application & Election Process

To be considered, candidates must complete the form below and then submit their CV/resume and a letter outlining their interest in joining the Board via email to CSRO’s Executive Director.

All applications will be reviewed by CSRO’s Nominating Committee, who will develop a slate of candidates for the current Board of Directors approval. CSRO’s member societies will then vote to elect new directors at CSRO’s Annual Business Meeting on September 21, 2024.
