Event Overview

Cheers to 20 years! Advocating for patient access to care has been the cornerstone of CSRO’s mission since we were founded in 2003, and 2023 marks CSRO’s 20th anniversary. Join us in Austin for CSRO’s flagship Advocacy Conference to learn, network, and strategize about advocacy, and celebrate our two decades of serving as a voice of rheumatology.

Travel stipends for individuals to attend this event are provided to our state society members, as a benefit of membership with CSRO – if you are interested in representing your state society and using the stipend, contact your state society president or executive director for more information, or email to let us know of your interest and we will help connect you with your state society.

Registration

This event is open to all individuals who are currently working within or have retired from the field of rheumatology, as well as CSRO’s non-profit partners.

Registration is complimentary and includes:

  • Welcome reception and dinner on Friday, August 25
  • Entrance to the conference and all associated sessions, breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks on Saturday, August 26
  • Anniversary Celebration on the evening of Saturday, August 26
  • Closing breakfast on Sunday, August 27

Agenda

This annual event brings together like-minded rheumatologists and advocates to network within our community, strategize about state advocacy, and learn from nationally-recognized experts.

CSRO is pleased to welcome Dr. Alex Oshmyansky, Founder and CEO of Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company, as this year’s keynote speaker – read more about Dr. Oshmyanksky here. The program will also feature a variety of sessions focusing on current issues at both the state and federal level that are impacting rheumatology patients and practices.

A tentative schedule of events is outlined below, noting times are subject to change.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 25

  • 5:30pm - 8:30pm – Welcome Reception & Dinner

SATURDAY, AUGUST 26

  • 7:00am - 8:00am – Breakfast
  • 8:00am - 4:00pm – Advocacy Conference featuring keynote speaker Dr. Alex Oshmyansky, Founder and CEO of Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company
  • 5:30pm - 9:00pm – Anniversary Celebration
    • Following the conclusion of the Conference, join us in toasting CSRO's impact during a fun, authentic, Austin-themed celebration with dinner off-site from the hotel

  • 7:00am – Closing Breakfast

ROOM RATE
CSRO has negotiated a discounted rate of $256.95 (plus tax) at Hotel Van Zandt. The deadline to reserve a room in CSRO’s room block is July 27, 2023, but the block may fill up before that date.

RESERVATIONS
Upon registering for this event, attendees will be emailed a confirmation message with a link to make their hotel reservation as part of CSRO’s room block. All conference attendees are responsible for booking their own hotel and travel, and paying all associated costs.

Travel

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is approximately 7 miles from Hotel Van Zandt. Attendees are responsible for their own transportation between the airport and the hotel.
