2024 Advocacy Conference

Advocating for patient access to care has been the cornerstone of CSRO’s mission since our founding more than 20 years ago and we invite you to join us in Nashville for CSRO’s flagship Advocacy Conference to learn, network, and strategize about advocacy.

Reimbursement for state society members: CSRO’s state society members receive a reimbursement allotment of up to $1,500 to help pay for transportation and lodging expenses for representatives to attend this conference. If you are interested in being an official representative, contact your state society president or executive director for more information, or email to let us know of your interest and we will help connect you with your state society.

Registration

This event is open to all individuals who are currently working within or have retired from the field of rheumatology, as well as CSRO’s non-profit partners.

Registration is complimentary and includes:

  • Welcome reception and dinner on Friday, September 20
  • Entrance to the conference and all associated sessions, breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks on Saturday, September 21
  • Closing breakfast on Sunday, September 22

The deadline to register is Wednesday, August 14 at 11:00pm CT.

Any for-profit organization interested in attending this event must be a confirmed Corporate Member of CSRO, or an approved event exhibitor and should not use the below registration formemail Executive Director Ann Marie Moss for more information and registration details.

Agenda

This annual event brings together like-minded rheumatologists and advocates to network within our community, strategize about state advocacy, and learn from nationally-recognized experts. The program will feature a variety of sessions focusing on current issues at both the state and federal level that are impacting rheumatology patients and practices. A tentative schedule of events is outlined below, noting times are subject to change.

Friday, September 20

  • 5:30pm - 7:30pm – Welcome Dinner Reception

Saturday, September 21

  • 7:00am - 8:00am – Breakfast
  • 8:00am - 5:00pm – Advocacy Conference program - topics include:
    • The Inflation Reduction Act and Prescription Drug Affordability Boards - Implications for Rheumatologists
    • The War on Copay Assistance: New Challenges for Access and Affordability
    • The Emerging Use of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare
    • What's the big deal with 340B?
  • 5:00pm - 6:00pm – Closing Wine & Cheese Reception
    • Dinner on your own

Sunday, September 22

  • 8:00am - 10:00am – Breakfast (program TBD)

ROOM RATE
CSRO has negotiated a rate of $309 (plus tax) at the Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown. The deadline to reserve a room in CSRO’s room block is August 22, 2024, but the block may fill up before that date.

RESERVATIONS
Upon registering for this event, attendees will be emailed a confirmation message with a link to make their hotel reservation as part of CSRO’s room block. All conference attendees are responsible for booking their own hotel and travel, and paying all associated costs.

Travel

Nashville International Airport is approximately 8.5 miles from the Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown. Attendees are responsible for coordinating their own transportation between the airport and the hotel.

Cancelations

CSRO requests registrants provide a minimum of 72-hour notice of cancelation if unable to attend the conference for any reason. It remains the responsibility of the individual to arrange cancelation and obtain credit for flight and hotel room.
