Dr. Madelaine Feldman traveled to Washington D.C. recently to attend the Patient and Health Advocacy Bio Summit. Dr. Feldman presented on pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and the rebate system fueling cost increases for prescription drugs. Conference attendees come from a variety of stakeholders in the prescription drug supply chain, and they were surprised to learn how the rebate system affects both upstream and downstream costs simultaneously. In addition, she updated attendees on the progress of CSRO’s advocacy initiatives across the states.
The modest size of the conference gives attendees the opportunity for in depth follow up discussions, and Dr. Feldman was happy to dig deeper with a number of attendees interested in learning more about how the rebate system affects them and their patients.
