Following passage in the House on April 26th, the Alaska State Senate concurred with their colleagues in the House in approving the state’s biosimilar substitution measure, SB 32. It now awaits transmittal to the Governor’s office.

Pending the Governor’s signature, passage of the law would cap a multi-year effort to improve future uptake of interchangeable biosimilars that faced numerous obstacles. The legislation ultimately included strong patient protections, requiring notification within 3 business days to prescribers.

We applaud the legislature, and urge Governor Walker to sign the bill into law. To join CSRO in asking Governor Walker to approve the legislation, you may contact his office using the information found here.
