CSRO is imploring its membership to utilize the COVID-19 Global Rheumatology Alliance Healthcare Provider Entered Registry during the unprecedented era of global pandemic. The registry serves as a resource for transparent, inclusive, and non-competitive data collection, sharing, and dissemination. We are encouraging our practicing rheumatologist members to report any and all cases of COVID-19 in their patients, including those with mild or no symptoms, to the registry. Completion of the case report form will take no more than 5-10 minutes, and no protected health information is required. As the registry becomes populated with more and more data, the COVID-19 Global Rheumatology Alliance will have an opportunity to rapidly provide information back to doctors and patients about how rheumatic disease patients and those treated with rheumatology drugs fare when they get infected.
The COVID-19 Global Rheumatology Alliance’s mission is to create a secure, de-identified, international case reporting registry from which data can be collected to provide swift and timely updates to the global rheumatology community. These findings could prove to be crucial and legitimately life-saving. This is a worldwide effort, and its chances of success depend heavily on the level of participation from practicing rheumatologists like you.
